Exploring Christianity

Friends International staff and volunteers are all Christians. We offer friendship and community to all internationals, no matter what you believe, where you are from or what your faith background may be.

We love talking about our faith with anyone who is interested and want to offer internationals in Cambridge the chance to investigate what Christians believe.

You can do this by joining an iExplore course or one of the Bible studies we run, visiting a church or meeting with a Christian. Please contact us if you are interested in any of these.

We would love to connect you with someone who can answer you questions, read the Bible with you or invite you to a church service.

iExplore Course

We often run iExplore courses which provide a safe place for students to explore the Christian faith. iExplore is run by local churches with the support of Friends International.

This term St. Matthew's Church is hosting the iExplore Course. Join us on Fridays, 7-9pm, 11th October to 29th November.

Join us for an 8-session course for internationals to explore and discuss what Christians believe, and ask questions in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Each session consists of:

  • A warm meal in a local home. (CB4)

  • A talk in simple English on an aspect of the Christian faith.

  • A group discussion relating to the talk. This is an opportunity to ask questions you may have about God, Jesus, the Bible and the Christian faith.

There will often be a chance to spend a weekend or day away together, having fun and further discussions.

Who is it for?
The course is intended for those who are not Christians or who are fairly new to Christianity. A moderate level of English will be needed but we aim to keep the language as simple as possible.

Where is it?

The course takes place in the home of a local family. We are sometimes able to offer lifts to and from the venue if  transportation at night is a concern for you.

Please sign up to register interest (so we provide enough food!) or ask for a lift there or back in a car if you live within Cambridge city.

Even if you are not able to join a course, if you would like to know more about the Christian faith, we would love to hear from you. Many local churches run similar courses and we can put you in touch with someone who can invite you along.
